The Butcher is the story of Merle Hench, a man who's spent a lifetime never planning ahead. As a young mob enforcer his first job was hatchet man on a hit, the resulting carnage earned him his nickname, The Butcher.

Merle hated what he did that day, and tried to bury the nickname and all that it implied, but it stuck for twenty years, until nobody but Merle could remember how it was earned.

When we meet Merle he's a tired aging loser, the brunt of the younger hoods jokes, a has-been with just the change in his pockets and his elbows on the bar to show for a lifetime of bad decision making.

However, Merle's luck is about to change and he just might have the chance to make it right....
